How to deposit crypto to a poker room

A 5 minute read · Updated 30 October 2026

A crypto deposit is a transfer from your wallet to an address the poker room gives you. The whole thing takes a few minutes, and there is one step where money gets lost: picking the network. This page walks through it for Basepoker and WePlay.

What you need

An account at a crypto exchange, or a wallet app that already holds some coins, and a few dollars in USDT. Basepoker and WePlay both take USDT, and it is the sensible coin to use for poker: its value is fixed to the dollar, so your bankroll does not move while you sleep. From 4 November 2026 Basepoker swaps every deposit into USDT anyway.

Step 1: get some USDT

Buy it on an exchange with a card or a bank transfer. The large exchanges all sell it, and many countries have local ones that accept local payment methods. Buy a little more than you plan to deposit, because a transfer costs a small fee and some exchanges set a minimum withdrawal.

Step 2: open the cashier and pick the network

Log in to the poker room, open the cashier or deposit page, and choose USDT. The room then asks which network to use. USDT exists on several blockchains, and a transfer only arrives if the network you choose in your wallet or exchange is the same one you chose in the cashier. The names differ a little between apps; this table matches them up.

TronTRC20Neither room lists USDT on Tron. WePlay lists TRON as a deposit method of its own

WePlay takes USDT on Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain or Tron, and nothing but crypto. Basepoker takes USDT on Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, Binance Smart Chain or TON, and eight other coins. If the network you want is not in the cashier's list, do not send on it. Change the network in your exchange instead.

Step 3: copy the address and send a test

The cashier shows a deposit address, a long string of letters and numbers, often with a QR code. Copy it with the copy button rather than by hand, paste it into the send screen of your exchange, and compare the first four and the last four characters before you confirm. Some exchanges also ask for a memo or tag; the poker room's cashier will show one if it is needed, and otherwise you leave it empty.

Send a small amount first, ten dollars or so, and wait for it to appear in the room. Once it has, send the rest. The test costs you one extra network fee and saves you from losing the whole deposit to a wrong address or network.

Step 4: fees and waiting time

Fees and times depend on the network, not on the room. Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, Solana and TON usually cost a few cents and arrive within a few minutes. Tron costs a dollar or two. Ethereum is the expensive one: its fee is often several dollars and can be much more when the network is busy, so it only makes sense for a large deposit. The exchange shows the fee before you confirm.

The room credits the deposit after the network has confirmed it. Most of the time that is within five minutes. Ethereum can take a little longer.

If the deposit does not show

  1. Find the transaction in your exchange or wallet and copy its transaction ID, a long code sometimes called a hash or TXID.
  2. Look the ID up on the network's explorer, such as bscscan.com for Binance Smart Chain, etherscan.io for Ethereum, polygonscan.com for Polygon, solscan.io for Solana or tronscan.org for Tron. It shows whether the transfer has gone through and to which address.
  3. If the explorer shows it as complete and the room still shows nothing after half an hour, send the transaction ID to the room's support.
  4. If you sent on a network the room does not list, tell support at once and before anything else. Recovery is sometimes possible and often not, which is why the test deposit matters.

Minimums, and the bonus

The minimum deposit is $10 at WePlay and $1 at Basepoker. The welcome bonus at each room is tied to a first deposit of a certain size: $50 or more at WePlay, $20 or more at Basepoker, where you also switch the bonus on in the deposit window. If you want a bonus, read the bonus terms before the first deposit, because a first deposit only happens once.

Withdrawing

A withdrawal is the same transfer in reverse: you give the room an address from your wallet or exchange, on a network the room supports, and it sends. Basepoker pays out from $10 with no fee beyond the network cost. WePlay pays out any amount at any time. Keep on the room only what you play with, and move the rest back to your own wallet now and then.

Keeping it safe

  • Turn on two-factor authentication at the room and at the exchange on the day you open the account.
  • Use a password for the poker room that you use nowhere else.
  • Type the room's address into the browser or use your own bookmark. Do not follow links from messages.
  • Nobody from a poker room, and nobody from this site, will ever ask you to send crypto to a personal wallet. Deposits go only to the address in the cashier.

Questions

Which coin should I use for poker?

USDT. Basepoker and WePlay both take it, its value is fixed to the dollar, and from 4 November 2026 Basepoker swaps every deposit into USDT anyway. Use a cheap network for it, such as Binance Smart Chain, Polygon or Solana, where the room offers one.

Which network should I use for USDT?

The one you choose in the room's cashier, and the same one in your exchange when you send. WePlay takes USDT on Binance Smart Chain. Basepoker takes it on Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, Binance Smart Chain or TON. Send a small test amount first.

What happens if I pick the wrong network?

The transfer goes to an address the room does not watch on that network, and it does not show up. Contact the room's support straight away with the transaction ID. Recovery is sometimes possible and often not, which is why you send a small test amount before the full deposit.

How long does a crypto deposit take?

Usually a few minutes. The room credits the deposit after the network has confirmed it. Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, Solana and TON are quick and cost cents. Ethereum can take longer and costs more.

What is the minimum deposit?

$10 at WePlay and $1 at Basepoker. The welcome bonus needs a larger first deposit: $50 or more at WePlay and $20 or more at Basepoker.
