Rakeback calculator

Rakeback is a share of the rake you pay, returned to you whether you win or lose. Put in how much you play, or the rake you already know you pay in a month, and see what 30% or 32% is worth to you.

Rake you pay per month$70.00
Rakeback at 30% per month$21.00
Per year$252.00
Added to your win rate2.10 bb/100

How the figure is worked out

Rake per month is your hands divided by 100, times the rake per 100 hands in big blinds, times the size of a big blind in dollars. Rakeback is that rake times the percentage. With 10,000 hands at $0.05/$0.10, a rake of 7 big blinds per 100 hands is $70 a month, and 30% of it is $21.

The last line turns the same figure back into big blinds per 100 hands, which is how win rates are measured. At 30% rakeback and 7 big blinds of rake per 100, you get 2.1 big blinds per 100 hands back, on top of your result at the table.

Basepoker and WePlay pay 32% on poker at Basepoker and 30% at WePlay. When and how each one pays is on the rakeback page.

Questions

How much rake do I pay?

The room shows it in your account or in the hand histories. If you do not know, online Hold'em cash games usually cost between 4 and 12 big blinds per 100 hands, more at the smallest stakes where the cap is high compared with the pot.

Is rakeback paid on tournaments too?

It is paid on the rake you pay, and a tournament fee is rake. Each room's own page says how it counts tournaments; Basepoker and WePlay both show the figure in the account.

Does rakeback change my win rate?

Yes. 30% of 7 big blinds per 100 hands is about 2 big blinds per 100 hands added to whatever you win or lose at the table. For many players at small stakes that is the difference between losing a little and winning a little.
