The 8% on top
Both slips multiply the combined odds by 1.08. Our arithmetic for the first one: 1.50 × 1.48 × 1.61 × 1.52 × 1.45 is 7.88, and 7.88 × 1.08 is the 8.51 on the slip. A combo pays only when every result comes in, which is why the price is high. Bet only what you can afford to lose.
