The Eliminator on WePlay: $5,000 every Tuesday

A 4 minute read · Updated 3 November 2026

Every Tuesday at 18:30 UTC WePlay runs the Eliminator: $44 to play, $5,000 guaranteed and a $20 bounty on every player. It opens WePlay's week of flagship tournaments, and a $4.40 satellite the same afternoon pays $44 seats into it.

What you get for $44

$20 of the $44 buy-in is the bounty on your own head, and the rest goes to the prize pool and WePlay's fee. The $5,000 guarantee covers the prize pool and the bounties together, and part of it is paid in tickets. With two players registered, the lobby showed it as $4,868 in cash plus two $66 tickets to the Monthly Mystery, which adds up to the $5,000.

The bounties

Every player starts with a $20 bounty. When you knock someone out, the lobby says you are paid at least $10, half of that player's bounty. The other half is added to your own bounty, which is what makes it a progressive knockout, the same format as the Sunday Showdown: the players who knock out the most carry the biggest bounties later in the evening, and that changes which all-ins are worth calling. How we play bounty tournaments goes through it.

The $4.40 way in

WePlay runs a satellite to the Eliminator on the same day at 15:00 UTC, three and a half hours before the main tournament: $4.40 to play, with three $44 seats as the prize, $132 in all.

A seat won in the satellite is a ticket, and the Eliminator takes tickets: the lobby shows "Ticket Entry: Available". The Tonight page lists the satellite and the Eliminator in UTC, and how to play a satellite is a different game from the tournament it leads to.

What the lobby showed six hours before the start

The Eliminator details in the WePlay app: 20,000 chips, 7 players a table, unlimited re-entries, 4,000 early bird chips, 8-minute levels
The info tab the same moment: the stack, the table size, re-entry and the early bird chips.

Six hours before the start, two players had registered, and the lobby paid two places: $2,910 and a Monthly Mystery ticket for first, $1,918 for second. That is the guarantee at work, because two buy-ins are a small part of $5,000. Our arithmetic: 114 buy-ins of $44 make $5,016, and part of every buy-in is WePlay's fee, so it takes more entries than that before the players' money covers the guarantee on its own. Below that, the difference is money WePlay adds, which players call overlay.

The places paid grow with the field. The lobby says the payouts follow the number of players until registration closes, and late registration and re-entries keep adding entries for two hours after the start.

Our tips

  • Register before the start. Everyone registered before late registration begins gets 4,000 extra chips, 24,000 instead of 20,000, which is 120 big blinds at the first level instead of 100.
  • Set your number of re-entries before the first hand. Unlimited re-entry is a second chance after a bad start and an expensive habit after that.
  • Count the bounty before you call an all-in. At least $10 of a knockout is paid to you on the spot, and that can turn a close call into a good one. The bounty calculator does the sum.
  • Try the satellite first. For $4.40 you play for one of three $44 seats.
